Program Description
The MS-BTC program is designed to create a strong scientific workforce by providing students with advanced training appropriate for jobs in academia, government, or the private sector. The 3 semester, non-thesis academic, research and laboratory master’s level training program prepares students for careers in biotechnology research, industry and management, while also offering excellent preparation for further training in graduate school or professional doctoral programs.
Students complete a series of Gateway courses in Biological Engineering, Biological Sciences, and Business Management, for a solid groundwork in advanced principles in all three disciplines. Elective courses allow each student’s program to be individually structured to provide maximum flexibility in choice of coursework, consistent with high quality graduate scholarship. Our rich variety of course offerings, spanning the three colleges, allows students to personalize their curriculum with elective courses in the Biomedical Engineering, Biomedical Sciences or BioBusiness track. Students wishing to follow the General Biotechnology track may select elective courses from all three areas.
