Students in the newspaper and online journalism program learn to meet the challenges of the complex and evolving news industry, including digital platforms. Classes cover how to produce content using all the written and visual tools, and how to deliver it and design it for all the platforms where news is featured. Emphasis remains on learning the traditional core skills such as interviewing, reporting and writing. Students produce multimedia content for the Newhouse School’s news website, http://www.thenewshouse.com/, as well as for local media outlets that participate in a strong internship program.
