The underlying theme of the Certificate of Advanced Study in Integrative and Functional Nutrition is to educate and train nutrition and other health professionals in personalized approaches to health and wellness by enhancing their understanding of nutrition within the context of the individual’s genetic, environmental and lifestyle factors through educational training that is evidence based using the Nutrition Care Process and Model.
The CAS will be open to current graduate students in Nutrition Science at Syracuse University, current nutrition graduate students from other universities, practicing Registered Dietitian Nutritionists (RDNs) with an undergraduate and/or graduate degree in nutrition and other health professionals. A minimum GPA of 3.0 will be required.
International students with degrees in food and nutrition science or biological sciences will be expected to provide GRE scores (verbal >140 and quantitative >140) and TOEFL (>100) or IELTS scores (>7) taken within the past 5 years.
Eligibility requirement: To be awarded a Certificate of Advanced Study (CAS), a student must be matriculated in the certificate program for at least one semester. Matriculation may not be backdated.
CAS programs in the Falk College are not eligible for graduate assistantships or tuition scholarship credits.
The Nutrition program is located on the 5th floor of the Falk Complex (White Hall).
