Program Description:

Syracuse University has a long tradition of leadership in the field of education and is recognized nationally and internationally for its leadership and vision in inclusive and equity focused education.

The PhD in EDUCATION at Syracuse University (SU) affords students the opportunity to examine critical issues in the field of education from an equity-oriented and inclusive lens. It encourages expansive thinking and new ways of examining important educational issues through sustained, interdisciplinary, and rigorous inquiry. At SU we pursue both aims by supporting broadly framed inquiry and in-depth investigations into a focus area of research.

The PHD in EDUCATION is designed to prepare students for leadership positions in education. Students graduating from the program seek higher education faculty positions, as well as leadership positions in education, research, government/policy, and in public and private agencies and organizations.
